Earlier this week I made a trip to the hospital, together with some people of a fundraising initiative that we started a few weeks ago. I was asked to take some pics. We went to visit the kids ward to hand over some Christmas presents and other goodies. Just a small thing to get their mind off things and maybe a smile for a change.. although some of them were too sick for that.
Some members of the community in Goroka have taken up the initiative to raise funds to help sick kids that need surgery during the year. In this way they can afford (heart)surgery, or even medevacs to Brisbane, if need be. This would never happen without financial help. The good thing about this initiative is that you know that every single cent you donate, goes 100% to the kids. No overhead, no salaries….
